Bang Subin’s landscapes depict a quiet and peaceful place of refuge through a recurring structure of vast mountains, a small red house, and a path leading toward it. The mountains rising on both sides go beyond being a simple natural backdrop; they feel like a protective shelter that embraces the heart from the noise and cold gaze of the outside world. The small red house placed between them becomes less a physical location than a symbolic space where one can pause and recover, while the path slowly guides the viewer toward that calm center.

The landscapes in her works hold not only the sense of changing seasons, but also different atmospheres of time and weather, such as day and night, sunset, fog, and snow. The textured mountains built up with acrylic paint, the softly spreading skies, and the delicate trees and wildflowers placed near the lower part of the canvas create a distinct temperature and mood in each scene. In this way, Bang’s landscapes recall the many different times of life we pass through, beyond the cycle of a single year.
