Translate심상민 작가는 사물과, 인물, 풍경을 통해 본질에 다가서기 위한 시도를 이어나간다. 개개인의 삶의 이치를 깨닫는 순간은 정해져 있지 않다. 무심코 걸어가는 순간이 될 수도 있고, 시장 어귀를 지나다 마주치는 우연한 순간이 될지도, 자연의 경이로움을 마주할 때 일지도 모른다. 단지 어느 순간 찾아오는 그 깨달음과 같은 순간을 놓치지 않기 위해 삶의 소중함을 잃지 않으면 될 뿐이다. 작가는 이와 같은  찰나의 순간을 포착하여 다양한 구도와 색감으로 작품안에 드러낸다.

Sim Sang Min continues his pursuit of essence through objects, figures, and landscapes. The moment when one awakens to the truths of life is never predetermined. It may arrive while walking without thought, in a chance encounter at the corner of a marketplace, or in front of the wonders of nature. What matters is not to lose the sense of life’s value, so that such fleeting moments of realization are not overlooked. Sim captures these ephemeral instants and reveals them on canvas through diverse compositions and colors.
