Translate감정은 분명 우리 안을 스쳐 지나가지만, 언제나 하나의 이름으로 남지는 않는다. 임초록 작가는 그 이름 이전의 감각을 화면 위에 머물게 한다. 작가의 작업은 기쁨이나 슬픔처럼 명확히 규정된 감정이 아니라, 무엇이라 설명하기 어려우면서도 분명하게 경험되는 내면의 움직임을 포착한다. 번지고 스며드는 색, 겹쳐지는 흔적, 유기적으로 흐르는 형상들은 언어보다 먼저 도착하는 감각을 드러내며, 감정이 생성되고 사라지는 짧은 시간을 회화로 기록한다.

Emotions undoubtedly pass through us, yet they do not always remain with a single, definitive name. Leem Chorok captures these pre-verbal sensations on the surface of her paintings. Rather than exploring clearly defined emotions such as joy or sorrow, her work investigates inner movements that are deeply felt but difficult to describe. Diffused colors, layered traces, and organically flowing forms evoke sensations that arrive before language, recording the fleeting moments in which emotions emerge and dissolve.

Memory and illusion, in Leem's work, are not subjects that reconstruct the past but living sensations that continually shape the present. The lingering resonance of music, faint recollections, and inexplicable attraction briefly coalesce into forms before dissolving again, creating new relationships across the canvas.
