아티스티와 신라스테이의 아트 콜라보 프로젝트 아티스티 레지던시 with 신라스테이 2025가 진행된다. 이번 레지던시는 4월 21일부터 총 3개월간 신라스테이 역삼점에서 열린다.

"아티스티 레지던시 with 신라스테이"는 국내 최초로 호텔 객실을 예술가들의 창작 공간으로 제공하여 창의적 예술 활동을 지원하는 프로그램으로서 작년 레지던시 1기가 성공적으로 진행되었으며, 신선하고 혁신적인 아트 프로젝트로 자리매김하고 있다. 올해에는 아티스티와 신라스테이가 엄선한 국내 유망 작가 3인 - 김판묵, 이슬아, 이진석 작가가 참여한다.

김판묵 작가는 주로 사회적 규범과 개인적 욕망이 충돌하는 지점에서 영감을 받아 대립된 세계의 경계에서 분열되는 정체성과 가면의 역할을 탐구하며, 현대인의 존재론적 딜레마를 자신만의 예술 언어로 투영하고 있다. 한국화를 전공한 그는 전통적인 기법에 현대적인 재료를 접목하여 강렬하고 독특한 작품 세계를 만들어낸다.

이슬아 작가는 일상의 사소한 순간들을 통해 삶의 본질을 탐구하고 사랑과 소통의 중요성을 강조한다. 작품은 순간적인 아름다움을 담아내면서도 그것이 사라질 것임을 암시하고, 동시에 다시 만날 수 있다는 희망적인 메시지를 전달한다. 다양한 소재는 시간의 흐름을 잡아내며, 일상의 세부를 깊이 탐구하고 숨겨진 의미를 발굴한다.

이진석 작가는 자연이 스스로 만들어내는 형태와 과정에 큰 영감을 받고 자연이 만들어낸 것과 인간이 만든 것이 뒤섞이며 생기는 조형적 특징을 탐구한다. 자연의 색과 질감, 시간이 만들어내는 변화를 반영하여, 자연과 인간의 경계를 흐리는 작업을 진행하고 있다. 최근에는 조각적 요소를 실험하며 작업의 확장을 모색하고 있다.

이 세 작가의 작업실은 매월 열리는 오픈 스튜디오 프로그램을 통해 대중에게 개방된다. 이를 통해 관람객은 작가의 창작 과정을 생생히 관찰할 수 있고, 작가들과 직접 소통하는 기회도 가질 수 있다. 더불어 7월에는 2층 로비에서 세 작가의 독창적인 라이브 페인팅이 진행될 예정이다. 

이번 레지던시 프로그램은 예술가들이 창작에 전념할 수 있도록 호텔의 우수한 서비스와 시설을 적극 제공하고, 이를 통해 참여 작가들이 예술적 잠재력을 마음껏 발휘할 수 있는 환경을 조성한다. 아티스티는 작가, 공간, 그리고 관객 사이의 긴밀한 소통을 촉진하여 문화적 상호작용을 확대하고, 예술의 가치가 지역 사회뿐 아니라 국제적인 차원에서도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 지속적으로 노력할 예정이다.

Artisty Residency with Shilla Stay 2025: An Art Collaboration Project

The art collaboration project Artisty Residency with Shilla Stay 2025 will take place at Shilla Stay Yeoksam for a total of three months starting from April 21.

This residency program, “Artisty Residency with Shilla Stay,” is the first of its kind in Korea to offer hotel rooms as creative spaces for artists, supporting their artistic endeavors. Following the success of its first edition last year, the residency has established itself as a fresh and innovative art project. This year, three promising Korean artists selected by Artisty and Shilla Stay — Kim Panmook, Lee Seul Ah, and Lee Jinseok — will participate.

Kim Panmook draws inspiration from the tension between societal norms and personal desires, exploring fragmented identities and the role of masks at the boundaries of opposing worlds. Reflecting the existential dilemmas of contemporary individuals through his unique artistic language, Kim—who specializes in Korean painting—fuses traditional techniques with modern materials to create a bold and distinctive body of work.

Lee Seul Ah examines the essence of life through small, everyday moments, emphasizing the importance of love and communication. Her works capture fleeting beauty while hinting at its transience, yet also deliver a hopeful message of reunion. By capturing the flow of time through various materials, she delves deeply into the details of daily life, uncovering hidden meanings.

Lee Jinseok finds great inspiration in the forms and processes created by nature itself. He explores the sculptural qualities that emerge when natural and human-made elements blend. His work reflects nature’s colors, textures, and time-driven transformations, blurring the line between the natural and the human. Recently, he has been experimenting with sculptural elements in pursuit of new artistic dimensions.

The artists’ studios will be open to the public once a month through an open studio program, allowing visitors to observe the creative process up close and engage directly with the artists. Additionally, a live painting performance featuring all three artists and their unique visual languages will be held in the second-floor lobby this July.

This residency program is designed to allow artists to fully focus on creation by offering the hotel’s top-tier services and facilities. Through this support, participating artists are encouraged to express their artistic potential to the fullest. Artisty aims to foster close communication between artists, spaces, and audiences, expanding cultural interactions and ensuring that the value of art positively impacts both the local community and the international stage.
