Haokkyun’s work begins with a pursuit of rest, comfort, and beauty. Familiar subjects such as flowers and butterflies, animals and figures, nature and spaces are transformed through the artist’s imagination and emotions into gentle, dreamlike scenes. Pastel hues and free-flowing compositions naturally bring these different elements together.

For Haokkyun, beauty lies not in the spectacular or extraordinary, but in moments that bring a sense of ease. Butterflies drifting among flowers, grasses swaying in the breeze, figures lost in thought, and quiet café scenes are among the recurring images that offer a place to pause and rest. Moving fluidly between reality and imagination, Haokkyun’s paintings invite viewers to linger and discover a sense of calm of their own.
